Using Modern Movement Science as our Guide, We Will Explore Your Movement in an Equestrian Context to Help You Develop Your Body and it's Expressive and Performance Potential.

You do not have to trap your body inside of "correct only" postures, positions and movements to become a physically capable horse rider and horse person.

No Other Working Equestrian Professional Today, Understands the Human Body and Human Movement with More Detail, Feel or Skill in the Way That a Trained Classical Dancer Does...

In BIM we go much further beyond just riding as the equestrian life is MOVEMENT RICH...

and we will explore groundwork, and even daily chores and everyday movements as important and valuable parts of your movement tool kit.

You do NOT have to be body confident, or have dance training to study BIM. This course applies to all levels, and all ages.

Get your body confidence back!

Have some fun, take a break from your horses, and do yourself, and them a great kindness... prepare your body to be healthy, fit, mobile and expressive around your horses!

Modern Movement Science gives us a new understanding as why so many discipline specific horses lack fundamental soundness, adaptability and confidence in their work and often so do their riders.

By focusing on adaptability and variability you increase your movement potential as a robust, capable commander of your body rather than a specialist, so that you can enjoy more choice, and fewer injuries with your horses.

Have FUN!

You Do Not Have Anything to be Ashamed About!

Our bodies are the one thing we get, that belong only to us, throughout our lives.

We lend our bodies to our horses, not only to ride our horses, but caring for them, and groundwork training too.

We better take care of them.

How on earth can we take care of our horses properly if our bodies are not up to the challenge?

You cannot ride well if your body is not trained how to move.

You can barely muck out a stable, lift a feed sack, if you cannot move properly.

Try training a horse in groundwork if your body is incapable of imparting nuanced meaning with differently posed and developed movements?

Feel like a LEGO figurine? Your body awkwardly stuck moving in clunky and inarticulate ways that have no scope, no fluency, no options to change?

Endless weight and strength training does not train you to move better.
Weight and Strength training makes your muscles stronger.
Do you want your poor movement, to be stronger?

Circuitous postural training only makes you fear anything outside of your limited postural menu.
Can you be a better equestrian if you a fundamentally afraid of unpredictable movement?

Some of the worlds BEST and most legendary riders and trainers, rode into their 90's, long after their physical strength left them and even after their perfect positions started to change due to age.

The only sure fire way to enjoy riding -and horses- safely and successfully for as long as possible is to focus on

MOVEMENT & COORDINATION

Not on strength, power or position.

Strength, power and positions is the purvey of youth .

Eventually, like dumb luck , it will run out.

And you will be left with the way you coordinate, and the way you move... or not.

A dancer knows this, and learns how to make the hardest possible human skills look effortless, so effortless that society thinks that ballet is fluff- easy.

All high level classical dancers demonstrate OLYMPIAN level physical skill! And make it look so easy they have society at large fooled into thinking it is not to be taken seriously.

Oh, and using your body should be fun and approachable. A never ending artistic project... like an instrument. That is why we called this course

BODY INSTRUMENT METHOD (BIM)

Yes, dancers are strong. But without bulky muscles and without unnecessary power, so they can dance again and again and again. Horse riders need all the same things:

Coordination that is harmonious when working with a parter- the horse.

Power, that doesn't over-power, the movement of your partner.

The ability to transmit meaning and feel through your movements.

The ability to move in balance and grace through unpredictable movements.

Body Instrument Method is absolutely targeted with work outs and techniques designed to give you all these skills from scratch, no matter your starting point!

To Change Horse Training for the 21st Century, We Cannot Continue What We Have Always Done.

We Need Fresh Faces, With Different Backgrounds, To Innovate Horsemanship Beliefs and Body-Care Practices that Keep us Stuck in Cycles of Shame, or Plateau our Innate Talents, Shortening our Equestrian Careers.
